Kaleidoscope: A Study of Duality

“Fierce Vulnerability’ is part of a collection that examines the multifaceted identities of women through the metaphor of kaleidoscopic form shifting, vibrant, and always layered.

A striking acrylic painting from the Kaleidoscope: A Study of Duality series, Fierce Vulnerability depicts a nude woman standing tall, facing the viewer with boldness and restraint. Her hands shield her breasts and genitals — not from shame, but as a symbol of boundaries and agency. Composed of vivid geometric fragments, the piece invites reflection on the complex interplay between exposure and self-possession, emotion and structure, femininity and power.

In Fierce Vulnerability, I explore the paradox of being both seen and protected. The woman’s upright, confrontational pose contrasts with the guarded placement of her hands. She is unhidden yet holding part of herself back, representing the emotional layers women often navigate — strength wrapped in sensitivity, openness laced with autonomy. The fractured, stained-glass style reflects how women are viewed: in pieces, through lenses, or colored assumptions. Yet even in fragments, she commands presence. This work explores the ownership of the body, narrative, and the contradictions within.
